Frequently Asked Questions
Can I roll back a skill if an update breaks it?
Yes. Every published change is saved as a version. You can compare any version with the current one and restore an earlier version in one step. Updates stay in draft until you publish them.
How do I control which teams get which skills?
Grant skills by group from the dashboard, so each team sees the skills for its work. An Editor can create and update your own skills without being an account admin.
What are company, team and personal spaces?
Spaces give the company, each team and each person their own home folder, rules and skills, so finance works from finance's context and sales from sales'. Spaces route work; your SharePoint or Drive permissions still decide who can open each file.
Does Contexta report on how skills are used?
Yes. Usage shows how often each skill is loaded across your connected AI tools, coverage shows which business functions have skills, and you can see how often your AI looks for a skill you don't have yet. A skill being used doesn't by itself prove the task went well.
Does Contexta store my documents?
No. Your knowledge base stays in your own SharePoint or Google Drive. Contexta stores your skills, rules and workspace settings, and your AI reads documents where they live.
Why not just use Claude Projects or custom GPTs?
Use them; they're worth having. But a Claude project only works in Claude and a custom GPT only works in ChatGPT, so anything you build in one has to be rebuilt in the next, and each copy is kept up to date separately. Platforms change too: OpenAI announced in September 2026 that custom GPTs are being retired in favour of plugins. Contexta keeps one version of your skills and company context and delivers it to every AI your team uses.
Can we keep our prompts in a shared document instead?
You can, and many teams start there. The catch is that a document can't load itself. Someone has to find the right prompt, paste it in and add the background every time, and pasted copies don't change when the document does. Contexta gives every connected AI the current version each time it starts a task, with your company context and knowledge base behind it.
Why does company context make AI more accurate?
Because the AI stops guessing. Context tells it who you are, who the work is for, the words you use and the format you expect, so its first draft is close to what you'd write yourself.
