How does Contexta connect to Claude and ChatGPT?
Through MCP, the standard way AI apps connect to outside tools. You add Contexta as a connector in your AI, sign in with your work email, and your AI can then load your rules, skills and spaces. There are no API keys to manage.
Do I need to rebuild my skills for each AI tool?
No. Your skills live in Contexta and each connected AI fetches them when it needs them. Each platform still needs its own one-time connection and any permissions that connection requires.
What is MCP, and do I need to set it up?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI app connect to tools and information outside it. You don't build anything: you add Contexta's connection link to your AI once, following the setup guide for that tool.
When does an AI pick up an updated skill or rule?
The next time it fetches it. A connected AI loads the current published version on its next request, so conversations already open may need to reload. A skill you downloaded separately doesn't update itself.
Does my company context carry across different AI tools?
Yes. Every connected AI reads your organisation and space rules at the start of a session, so Claude, ChatGPT and the rest work from the same context. Each AI still needs its own access to any documents the task uses.
What do I need to set up first?
Start with a skill for a task you repeat, then add your company context and link your knowledge base. You can create and download a skill here without an account, and save it to a free workspace when you're ready to connect your AI.
What is an AI harness, and does Contexta have one?
A harness is what connects your AI to everything it needs for the job. The Contexta harness loads your company context, pulls the right documents from your knowledge base and fetches the right skill, every time and in every AI you connect, with best practice built in.
Do I need a knowledge base to use skills?
No, but skills get much better with one. A skill can run on its own instructions, but the detail (SOPs, templates, guidelines, scripts) lives in your knowledge base. Linking the two is what lets your AI do the job your way.
